Ludo Star 2017: the first version
Gameberry Labs released Ludo STAR on mobile in 2017 — its App Store page says the game has been "available on mobile since 2017", and APK archive sites date the first Android build to March 2017. The old Ludo Star game was the classic board: Facebook login, 2- and 4-player tables against random players, gold stakes and chat.
Clubs with voice chat, the Season Pass, Streak Star, the Elite program and extra games such as Jackaroo and Dominoes all came later. If you remember Ludo Star as "just Ludo with friends", that is the 2017 version you are thinking of.
Ludo Star all version list: how the numbers work
Every Ludo Star version is numbered 1.xxx.x, and the middle number goes up with each release. Gameberry ships often, so "ludo star all version" pages on APK sites run to hundreds of files:
- 2017: first builds, listed around 1.10 to 1.36 on archive sites.
- 2024: the 1.2xx builds (APKMirror lists 1.214.1 in May 2024 and 1.225.1 in July 2024).
- 2026: the App Store history shows 1.345.1 on 25 April and 1.374.1 in October — roughly one update a week.
The Android package name has stayed the same the whole time: com.superking.ludo.star, developer Gameberry Labs. Any "old version" with a different package name is a different app.
Ludo Star APK old version: does it still work?
For online play, usually not well. Ludo STAR is a live online game: your gold, gems, league rank and friends are stored on Gameberry's servers with your account, not inside the APK. Gameberry's own troubleshooting advice is to install the latest available version, because outdated builds cause problems. An old build may install, but online matches, clubs and events are built for the current version.
The second problem is the file. Google Play does not offer previous versions, so every ludo star old version download comes from a third-party mirror — and some mirrors repackage the APK with extra ads or worse.
Ludo star download APK old version: if you still want one
- Link Facebook first. Gameberry's help center says a guest account cannot be opened on another device, so a guest account is easy to lose when you uninstall or switch builds. See Ludo Star login.
- Check the package name is
com.superking.ludo.starand the developer is Gameberry Labs. - Use a mirror that verifies signatures (APKMirror, for example, checks that uploads carry the developer's original signature).
- Skip any "old version" with extras. A 2017 file that promises unlimited coins or a six hack is a mod, not an old version — see mod APK risks.
- Expect to update again if online games, friends or events stop working.
Old version Ludo Star feel on the latest build
You can get most of the old game back without an old APK:
- Play the Classic variation (the other styles are Arrow and Blitz).
- Use a private table with friends instead of random matchmaking (online play guide).
- Play without internet from the lobby: scroll right and tap Offline (Ludo Star offline guide).
- Turn on "Hide my online status" in Settings if the social side gets in the way.
